The Rip Race Event Identity
Event Identity DesignThe Rip Race Event identity created by me reflected the rich history The Rip holds in Victorian maritime folk lore. The identity is complimented with rustic, wild and adventurous imagery in dramatic black and white and highlights of blue.

Wordpress Website, Posters, T-shirts, StationeryPrint Collateral
To further promote the swim a series of posters, postcards, business cards and certificates were created, along with presentation templates and stationery. All elements were consistent in their use of the brand image to strengthen its exposure across many mediums.
Event Website
The Rip Race website was developed around a WordPress content management system (CMS) framework that allowed the client to make their own changes and updates once setup.
The site was used to build anticipation with a countdown timer for an announcement date as well as the eventual race start. Social media integration was integral and also included a newsletter sign up function.
Custom T-shirts
As a unique memento each swimmer that successfully crosses The Rip in a private group receives a personalised t-shirt with their entry number on it as a hashtag. This not only gives them bragging rights to call themselves a ‘Ripper’ but denotes their position in a select group of swimmers that have crossed The Rip.
Friedo recently set up the identity for our new Rip Race and did an excellent job in a timely manner. In all my dealings, Friedo was easy to communicate with and happy to discuss the changes that I had in mind. He always came up with several concepts and in the end got the feel just right! I would not hesitate to recommend Friedo to anyone for a very thorough, original and creative approach.
